do you see clients on weekends/evenings?

Flexible scheduling is offered. Evening appointments may be available depending on demand. Office is open Monday-Friday. 
 

do you accept health insurance?

Your Couch, LLC does not accept insurance plans at this time. If you have a flex spending account, health savings plan, or similar program, an invoice or receipt of services can be provided to you for reimbursement purposes. 
 

Can you prescribe medication?

Prescribing medication is not in the scope of practice for a licensed counselor. However, appropriate referrals can be given, and your health information can be shared with a medical provider if a client has signed a release of information form. 
 

what if i want my spouse/partner to join me for a session. how does this work?

In the case of couples/marital/family or relationship counseling, an intake will be done on both individuals to help counselor better understand each person and their history. Treatment will then be very individualized, and something that will be agreed upon between counselor and the individuals involved.
 

is there ever a time you will break confidentiality?

It is important for clients to understand there are limits to confidentiality. The following are situations where confidentiality may be breached: 

1) If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to self or others, counselor must notify the police and inform the intended target. 

2) Suspected child, vulnerable adult, or elder abuse. Counselor is required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities. 

3) When written permission is provided to counselor for records to be sent to a designated party. This is given by signing a release of information. 

4) If the counselor is given a subpoena from a court system; either by a lawyer or a judge. There will be a reasonable attempt by the counselor to protect the client's confidentiality but if this is not possible, a breach of confidentiality will take place. 
 

Do you provide services for children?

The age range of clients being seen by Your Couch is age 14 and up. Appropriate referrals can be given to families when deemed necessary.
